Sheets & Plates: common questions

What is the difference between HR and CR sheet?

Hot-rolled (HR) sheet is rolled at high temperature, has a scaled surface and looser tolerances, and is used for structural and heavy fabrication. Cold-rolled (CR) sheet is finished at room temperature with a smooth surface and tighter thickness tolerance for panels and visible work.

What do Z120 and Z275 mean on GI sheet?

They are zinc coating designations: the total coating mass on both faces in grams per square metre. Z275 carries more zinc than Z120 and is the usual choice for roofing and exposed cladding.

What thicknesses and sizes do you stock?

From 0.4 mm sheet up to 100 mm plate, in widths of 1000, 1250, 1500 and 2000 mm and lengths of 2000–6000 mm, with shearing and plasma / gas cutting to your drawings.

Do sheets and plates come with a mill test certificate?

Yes. Every lot of sheets and plates is supplied with the mill test certificate and heat number. Use the "Request mill test certificate" button on this page to ask for the certificate with your quote.

How do I get a price for sheets and plates?
