A steel reinforcing bar weighs d² ÷ 162.2 kg per metre, where d is the bar diameter in millimetres. A 12 mm bar weighs about 0.888 kg/m (10.8 kg per 40 ft bar) and a 16 mm bar about 1.578 kg/m (19.2 kg per 40 ft bar).

Grade 60 rebar has a minimum yield strength of 420 MPa (60,000 psi), against 280 MPa (40,000 psi) for Grade 40, so it carries about 50% more stress before yielding. Always buy the grade written on the structural drawings and never substitute without the engineer's approval.

Which steel products does OR Steels supply?

Do you provide mill test certificates?
Yes. Every lot of rebar, sections, plates and pipes is supplied with its mill test certificate and heat number, so your consultant can verify chemical and mechanical properties at inspection. You can also request the certificate for a specific lot through the quote form.
Where in Pakistan do you deliver steel?
We dispatch from Karachi using our own fleet for deliveries within the city, and deliver nationwide through vetted carriers. Transit time and freight for your site are confirmed in your quote.
How quickly will I get a quote?
Firm, itemised quotes are sent usually within a few hours on business days (Mon – Sat, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Pakistan time). Each quote confirms grades, sizes, availability, price and lead time.
Can you cut and bend rebar to my bar bending schedule?
Yes. Send your BBS or drawings with the quote request and we deliver rebar cut, bent and tagged by member, ready to fix. Plates, sheets, flats and sections can also be cut to length, drilled and primed.
How are prices quoted, and is there a minimum order?
Rebar, sections and plates are quoted per tonne; pipes, sheets and bars per piece or per tonne. Prices are quoted on request because steel prices move with the market. Minimum order quantity and price validity are confirmed in your quote.
Which standards do your products meet?
TMT rebar to ASTM A615 / PS 1879; structural sections and plates to ASTM A36 / EN 10025 (S275JR, S355JR); pipes to ASTM A53, API 5L and BS 1387; galvanized sheet to DX51D with Z120–Z275 zinc coating. The mill test certificate for each lot states the standard it was produced to.
